About
Family Owned and Operated
Westmoreland Produce is a sustainable farm that got its start in Warsaw, Virginia. Established in 1989, co-founded and operated by the Medina family. We use only the best farming practices, and we do our best to act as good stewards of the land we work.
We initially started out leasing 4 acres of land and with no farm equipment or heavy machinery, and using only small hand tools and the disposition to work hard and progress.
Little by little our family gained more experience and we began to acquire more farm equipment! We can say we had a hard rough start, but our hard work and sacrifices paid off!
Today, we own three different farm locations: Forty-three acres located at 2298 Richneck Road in Warsaw, Virginia 22572; forty acres located at 52 Bell Farm Land in Warsaw, Virginia 22572; and thirty-seven acres at 1545 Ebenezer Church Road in Hague, Virginia 22469.
Currently our farm is worked by only family members, which include our four adult children, our daughter Cristina and her husband Alfonso, our son Arnulfo Jr, and our other two daughters Esther and Angelica. Oh, and we can not forget our two grandchildren Juan Pablo and Nataly.
We're a family of farmers
We grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruits at the farm, with a focus on sustainable production of heritage and specialty varieties. We love to grow food in a way that enriches the soil as well as the people it feeds. We are grateful to be part of an emerging local food economy that includes both amazing growers, farmers’ markets, as well as well-informed passionate customers.
